Neither one of these is going to get fixed before the next payday, at least, unfortunately. A brake job is doable, and probably warranted anyway. I did some research on the Car Talk website about the Chevette noises, and it seems like it may be a vacuum problem. That's manageable, as it would probably be a hose. But if darkmane is right and it's the head, we're toast. Off to the junkyard then, I suppose, but we won't even be able to do that for a while. ::sigh::
