I've just gotten sick of the entire mess there. It seems that almost no one is capable of simply discussing anything. The vast majority of people, particularly in Politics, take any disagreement as some sort of personal attack, and respond with name-calling, dismissal, and other bullshit. It seems the only thing they're interested in anymore is insulting and browbeating anyone who doesn't agree with them, and posting the same, stupid, unfunny jokes 27 times in each thread -- and i'm not even referring to CCN. (CCN is just a pointless wasteland of endless repetition and humour that barely aspires to juvenile.)

It's gotten so bad in politics that certain people have even begun manufacturing arguments with people who they're in fairly close agreement with. There are a couple who have pretty much lost any respect i had for them in the past. People who, as you said, should really know better.

The whole thing, lately, has had the effect of driving me back into my misanthropic exile. I do not want to see anyone or talk to anyone, particularly anyone who may be on the crackboard. I've had people try to drag me out to clubs, but I can't go because there are too many people i really don't want to see there.

The only thing I do any more is Goffee, and that's only because there's one person there i really like, who I don't see anywhere else, and few of the annoying people ever show up.
