Volumes

I turn a page
And what I have learned
Settles forward into my soul.
What I have felt remains.

I have seen others read,
Turn quickly past,
Move into the present
And on, and away

I do not say your style is wrong,
That mine is best.
Au contraire,

Merely that the sorrow
Has lingered
Far longer than the joy.

Thanks for the birthday wish!

I'm frequently a better poet than that, but that was a general statement of my way of being that I wanted to get out.

What makes a "better" poem I wonder? If it expresses what you wanted to get out, then I'd say you did well. But I'm contrary like that.

I like my imagery to be more vivid and specific , and my word use a little more unusual. But this needed to be said immediately, without taking the time for all that, so it was. ;-) However, it does get across what I wanted it to pretty clearly, I think, so you could be right on that front. :-)

Well, true also. I see you have an MSW... I'm working on getting one. Right on. :)
