Volumes

I turn a page
And what I have learned
Settles forward into my soul.
What I have felt remains.

I have seen others read,
Turn quickly past,
Move into the present
And on, and away

I do not say your style is wrong,
That mine is best.
Au contraire,

Merely that the sorrow
Has lingered
Far longer than the joy.

You say you have "better" poems, and I do not doubt it. But *this* one touched me.

Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you for both posts. :-)

And you know I have to ask--what are you doing with an active LJ account, hmm? ;-)

Active again

what are you doing with an active LJ account, hmm? ;-)

::smiles:: Well, it's like this. I got the account for the very specific purpose of responding to some nasty defamatory statements that were being made about me. Once I had done that, I left it open for about 2 weeks, just in case there was more I needed to do and then, when it was clear it had been taken care of, I deleted the account. And many peoples howled.

Ivy even made a poll asking if I should undelete it. I voted no. I lost, by margin of 29 to 1. ::smiles:: So, I caved to peer pressure. So now, I have an active LJ that allows my friends to add me and I can keep up on their lives and comment at will. But I draw the line at making my own journal entries. THAT'S just going too far!

End of story. ::takes a bow::

While I just found your page browsing through friends of friends, etc...that poem touched me as well and I thought it was very beautiful. Just wanted to say I appreciate good poetry.
