Well--thank you all! :-) I was going through pictures that Doug (Hypnox) took a couple of years ago and found that, and wondered why I'd never used it for anything. I guess this was a good avatar decision. :-)
And the wallet did turn up--eventually. It ended up between the cushion and the frame of the Papasan chair. Damned if that doesn't look like a visit from the Zone of Non-Existence. (Where things disappear into for short periods of time, to return short distances away from where you left them.)
