Great moments in ADD
Aug. 19th, 2002 06:01 pmWhy I've decided to track this, I may never know.
Anyway. Background: In the basement of our building is a laundry room with one washer and one dryer (which rarely, if ever, dries anything completely on the first cycle. Maybe two fleece tops). It's not that hard to get a washer and/or dryer, but certain times of week are better than others. Wednesday morning, for example, never works. Sunday night, on the other hand, is almost always fine.
So, last night I went down and popped my quarters in the washer to run some water to dump the detergent so it can dilute and disperse before I add the clothes. Anyone see where this is going? Yep, I open the lid and there is LAUNDRY. Someone else's towels.
Not knowing what else to do, and not possessing enough quarters to run their load again before doing mine, I pulled them out of the washer and left them atop the dryer. Gulp.
I think I got away with it though, because the towels were still there at midnight last night and I think this morning too, when I sent Sean to bring up our (somewhat damp) stuff. (Hey, I was tired.) So the towels had a little time to dry out before they were reclaimed. Still.
