Pink

Yes, today I am wearing pink. Forget for a moment that it's a pink with aspirations to violet, and that it's tempered with a good deal of black. It seems to be a pink mood that I'm in. Maybe it's mindless glee over today's sunshine, or continuing happy vibes from last night's Brian Froud book-signing. Or maybe it's just a good sign--of what, I don't know yet, but I'll look forward to finding out.

This church where I work is having an art show. This weekend. Artists were mostly scheduled about 8 months ago, and with the exception of last-minute drop-outs and fill-ins, this thing has been essentially planned for months. Now I realize not everyone knows how far ahead we plan this. But isn't three days before a major art show just a little short notice to try to get in? And apparently a lot of the people who are in it aren't any better. It's the art show committee I'm really feeling for these days. And you know what? I don't miss doing special events at all.

I give up.

I'm going to give Sean my General Foods International Coffees Creme Caramel. And hope he likes it better than I do. Somehow it's just too much for me--too heavy and sweet. Disappointing. Ah well, what I really wanted was hazelnut, anyway.

Choices

Work out, or stay here for wine and hors d'oeuvres? Work out or wine and hors d'oeuvres?

I have no self control... :-D

...and makes you make 5 LJ posts in one day. Yikes.

Anyway, to recap--I decided to run by Planet Halloween and then go back for the wine and hors d'oeuvres. P.H. may be cheesy, but I got almost everything we still needed there. Then I went back and had fun with the art show staff. Then I went by Northgate Mall and finished my Halloween shopping. I didn't find flame hair clips, but I found something even better--a flame necklace on a red collar. Very "bat out of hell," if I do say so myself. So--Halloween is done! Woo hoo!

Then I came home to find 1) a $15 coupon for Express, 2) my paycheck (woo hoo!) and 3) my skirt from Ebay. Not only is it adorable, it fits perfectly--which means I'm an inch smaller in the waist than I thought I was. Hey, these things make a difference in the self-image department. Plus now I know what size I should be buying off Ebay. ;-)

Soon I shall be off for the evening. If it goes as well as the rest of the day, I shall be content indeed.
