Definition of likely interest

I added phenomenology to my interests list, and came upon this as I was looking at communities also listing it. It's from vtp (Veronica's Tea Party), which sadly seems to be defunct.

what's memetic mean? well memetics is the study of memes, and a meme is a contagious information pattern that replicates by parasitically infecting human minds and altering their behavior, causing them to propogate the pattern. (the word has an analogy with gene) any information pattern becomes a meme once someone replicates it, or repeats it to someone else.

all transmitted knowledge is memetic. slogans, catch phrases, melodies, icons, and fashions are all typical memes. religion, political dogmas, artistic styles, and traditional customs are examples of more complex memes.

the kitty loaf is a perfect example of a simple yet effective meme.

And alas, kitty loaf seems also to be defunct, at least until I track down the image and add it to our hard drive.
