I can now give a cat an enema.

Thought everyone should know that. You never know when it might come in handy to know someone who can give a cat an enema. Maybe I can raise my cat-sitting rates.

And I can give a bird an oil enema.
It's a very necessary thing to know how to
do when one cares for a female bird, because
they can get egg bound. The procedure is to
dropper some baby oil into the cloaca and
gently warm the bird over very mild steam.
And hope the egg slips out intact. Hmrf.

I can also give a bird shots into the
breast muscle. Hoo hah. That's fun.
I even have a little birdie compliance
garment, in black vinyl with velcro, for
this purpose. It's simple. And then
the bird slips out, bites you, and pukes
in your keyboard! And asks for hugs! Whee!

And somehow I'm finding this adorable, whatever that says about me. Except for the shot part--I can give kitty shots, and I'm pretty good at it IMHO, but it's not the most fun item in my odd repertoire.

Oh yes. Puking crows are adorable!
It's my maternal instinct at work,
possibly. Poor Corby had to have a
14 day run of injected antibiotics.
This is what got me hooked on Buffy,
because the first time I gave him a
shot, it was on... he just wanted to
be cuddled after the shot, so we sat
and watched Buffy. Within a week,
he had learned to HATE the word "shot,"
and growled/hissed when I'd say it.
And I was watching a lot more TV!

There are very few people in the world who I can imagine saying this and being at all serious. And yet, I find myself agreeing completely. :)

Baby kittens are the ones who trigger my maternal instincts, so I use them as my benchmark. I imagine crows would come close. :-)

And any creature you love wanting a hug from you is more adorable than anything.
