</td><td valign="top">You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.
Normal: Tell our geek we need him to work this weekend.

You [to Geek]: We need more than that, Scotty. You'll have to stay until you can squeeze more outta them engines!

Geek [to You]: I'm givin' her all she's got, Captain, but we need more dilithium crystals!

You [to Normal]: He wants to know if he gets overtime.

You are 50% geek

Okay, if I pick the "art car" (for lack of a better term), I hit official geek status. But I've always liked being a borderliner.

How is Borderliners? I liked Smilla's Sense of Snow though I thought it was a bit slow in places.

It's quite different from Smilla--for one thing, the plot is a bit "further out." It didn't have the sense of place that Smilla did, which is what I really liked about that book, but it does have that concept of "borderliners," and some interesting ideas. I can loan you my copy, if you like.

That would be dandy. I'll mention it next time we meet - I've got, oh, two dozen books on my To-Be-Read pile right now, so there's no hurry. :)
