Famous names and sorry confessions
Oct. 22nd, 2002 07:12 pmI'm just all over LJ today, aren't I?
I think someone I dated briefly in the early 90's is on the new Beth Orton album. I don't think there are very many guys named Jon Birdsong who play trumpet--and he really was that good. He was also one of the guys who flaked out on me when he started to have "feelings" for me and skated back to an ex-gf. We never did iron that one out. (Although I wonder now, if it really is him, if I could parlay our history into backstage passes when Beth Orton plays here next month--? Heh heh)
I also had a roommate in college named Carla Fry who went off to LA to work in the film industry. I keep seeing that name in the production credits of various movies and I always wonder. She was one of the nastier roommates I've had (not just my opinion, either), so I've always sort of hoped it wasn't her--not nice memories, and also for the selfish reason that I hate it when mean people are a thousand times more successful than I! Not something I'm proud of, but there it is. :-P
Jon, though. He is talented enough to deserve this, so I'll have to accept it. Sigh...
