Newsletter Day is over and no blood was shed. This was almost not true for Ed (the minister) when he decided he should see the newsletter pages before they were ready to print. My boss told him no and Norma, the newsletter editor, told him no. So he came down the hall and found me in the education director's office where I was working, and I was distracted enough to do it. I did just give him the rough copy in Word and not the pages I was laying out, but I can't believe I fell for that (again). No harm done, I guess, because if he had any changes he wanted made, he kept them to himself. ;-)

All in all, it wasn't too bad. Better than last time, at least. The layout itself was pretty easy, and I was able to keep in mind that I'm not the editor and I can relinquish a good deal of control over this project. Of course there was the problem where the floppy drive decided we could no longer save to discs, and we had to e-mail the pages to my computer because it's connected to the good printer...

Anyways, I got out around 6:30. I did receive a call from Norma on my cell phone as I was pulling into the garage. I tried to help her out, but really couldn't figure out what was going on with the page in question without seeing it. (Norma's going to have to pull the education director--who used to do the newsletter--out of her meeting and ask her.) People who do tech support, my hat is off to you.

Now that I'm home, I hope I'm not too tired to do anything. I'm trying to do something towards my projects list every day, but I may just take the rest of this one off.

I'm glad that things went much smoother than the last few outings.

Sadly, I have to attribute part of the increased sanity to having LJ and the EZ Board up to de-stress me during the day. But it does prove that I really do work better when I can take myself out of the situation once in a while.

At this point, it should be no surprise to *anyone* that periodic breaks and stress-relief make just about everyone work better.

It *shouldn't* come as a surprise, but--um--well. Corporate America has yet to understand this, I do believe. (Another reason I don't work for corporate America.)
