Wow. Again, I find my disillusionment has depths yet unplumbed.

I remember how it felt to be picked on. I could go right back to that place in a moment if circumstances were right. I don't want to see a friend go through it now.

There are some cases where I can say, "Consider the source." There are others where I don't think harm is meant, but people need to get their heads out of their asses and think about their actions. And then there are people who really should know better.

I know this comes and goes, I know it's neither the first nor last time. But this time it's getting to me. I believe I'll be taking a leave of absence from the SG Board for a while. Too bad, because I was starting to enjoy it again.

I just completely avoid CCN (I assume that's what you're talking about). There's just no point and no interest for me. And I tend to avoid the jackasses in real life, too.

That said, I've also been taking a leave from the Politics forum. It's really my favorite, but lately I've noticed that it's been causing, well, high blood pressure and a tendency toward intemperate replies rather than reasoned arguments. (Really, it's a few people on it who are so anti-everything-I-believe-in that they manage to piss me off even worse than PhantomQueen used to.)

Anyway, remember the Bryan Lovely Patented Anti-Drama Shield (tm). Extend your thumbs and forefingers, touch your thumbs together to make a W, and (forcefully, disgustedly, or resignedly) repeat as necessary: "What. Ever." :-)

Really, it's a few people on it who are so anti-everything-I-believe-in that they manage to piss me off even worse than PhantomQueen used to.

I've noticed that even people who used to be fairly reasonable have gotten to the point where they will make huge issues out of extremely minor points, just so they have something with which to bludgeon and browbeat someone who otherwise agrees with them fairly strongly. It's cost several people my respect; and i'm tired of dealing with them.

I do have a great Valley Girl voice I could use for that. It's tremendously obnoxious. Just ask anyone who's heard it.
