The day where I wake up thinking, "Should I kill myself now, or wait till later and see who I can take with me?" Okay, that may not be funny to everyone. But it is the kind of humor that sprouts around here on newsletter day, and I'm not kidding--!

So it's after noon, and I've been here since 10:30 (fortified with my double tall almond latte) and I'm just now getting the information to put in the darn thing. An extra four hours of work? Heh. Last month I think it was 8 1/2. The extra pay is nice, but my usual Monday off is nicer. Oh well--forging onward.

Newsletter Day is over and no blood was shed. This was almost not true for Ed (the minister) when he decided he should see the newsletter pages before they were ready to print. My boss told him no and Norma, the newsletter editor, told him no. So he came down the hall and found me in the education director's office where I was working, and I was distracted enough to do it. I did just give him the rough copy in Word and not the pages I was laying out, but I can't believe I fell for that (again). No harm done, I guess, because if he had any changes he wanted made, he kept them to himself. ;-)

All in all, it wasn't too bad. Better than last time, at least. The layout itself was pretty easy, and I was able to keep in mind that I'm not the editor and I can relinquish a good deal of control over this project. Of course there was the problem where the floppy drive decided we could no longer save to discs, and we had to e-mail the pages to my computer because it's connected to the good printer...

Anyways, I got out around 6:30. I did receive a call from Norma on my cell phone as I was pulling into the garage. I tried to help her out, but really couldn't figure out what was going on with the page in question without seeing it. (Norma's going to have to pull the education director--who used to do the newsletter--out of her meeting and ask her.) People who do tech support, my hat is off to you.

Now that I'm home, I hope I'm not too tired to do anything. I'm trying to do something towards my projects list every day, but I may just take the rest of this one off.
